Love the place and staff, and a repeat customer, but this overnight only stay, plus breakfast, was AWFUL. Online boasted facilites, but failed to flag up a pre booked wedding. I had no access to the lounge, the bar, nor the restaurant. Basically CONFINED to my room. The booking online tech should AUTOMATICALLY inform a customer if the bar, lounge and restaurant may not be available for an evening, due to pre arranged wedding or private function booked, as these take the entire place over from other paying guests, some of us repeat customers. Your proudly promoted "room service" was not even avaiable to me for a sandwich in my own room, despite sufficent staff to cater for a large wedding! Min bar in my roomi indicated a G&T in fridge, but mine was not there! At breakfast, I had to take my pot of tea back, as completely cold, and then realised there was no sugar on my table for one. Had to pinch some from adjoining empty large dining table. Taking bookings, especially for overnight only stay, knowing lounge, bar, restaurant, night service, possiblyl unavailable???? No intended deceit, I know, as down to tech failing to flag up, but very unprofessional, and NEEDS IMMEDIATE ADDRESSING. A bad day at the office, but love the place, and the staff, and still my "GO TOO" place when everything is available. I stressed no G&T in my fridge, when departing, so await post exit mini bar charge wiith interest! A "PERSONAL, ...NON AUTOMATED, REPLY, WOULD BE NICE, PRIOR TO MY NEXT VISIT, WHEN I AM SURE THE NORMAL, SUPERB EXPERIENCE, SHALL BE BACK ON TRACK.

The room felt so stylish, comfortable and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. It is rare to have both a sofa and a desk in a single room, and this one did. Elemis bath products and complementary fruit, milk and sherry will always win me over too (even if I only had the fruit)! Staff were very friendly and accommodating, from the guys at reception to the cleaners. Location is perfect. It is very close to main streets and about 7-8 min walk from Bristol Cathedral, yet it is also quiet, in a classic square tucked away from the boulevards. I didn't have the chance to try the restaurant inside or the co-working space next door but made a definite mental note of both for a future visit. I needed to stay in Bristol for longer than I had planned. In such cases I almost always book somewhere else, just so that I know more places in a city. I had zero desire to experiment this time, immediately extended my stay!

The rooms are very comfortable with a great selection of amenities on offer. I was really impressed by the little touches in the room such as complimentary sherry, real coffee, real milk, fruit and biscuits all included with the room. The bathrooms are nice and the beds are very comfortable. I've stayed several times and the rooms are all very cosy. Wifi is very easy to connect to and fast. The reception staff are also very approachable and friendly. I really like the charm of the building as well and considering it is often one of the cheapest hotels available in Bristol I find it far exceeds the quality of other (mostly chain) hotels at a similar price point. The location is also excellent considering you are right in the middle of the uni and therefore very centrally located in the city.

Ecceptionally clean,..as always. Nice and warm, it being December, so heating important. Wonderful team at reception, and also at the fabulous bar, which is a lot cheaper than some Hotels within spitting distance. Mini bar with FRESH milk, and a nice touch with free sherry and a bowl of fruit when entering my room, and a mini bar to top it off. Good sized TV and crucially, for me, free WiFi. Nice tea and coffee options, and a choice of both brown and white sugar. Did not opt, this time, for the breakfast, due to time restraints, but as a regular returning customer, I can vouch for the excellent breakfast options.

Great location, ideal for our one night stay, we were able to drop off our cases in the morning ahead of check in which was useful. Room was clean, nice decor, our twin beds were comfortable plus a nice shower with plenty of hot water. The hotel rang me a week before my stay to warn me that there was a function there on the evening of our stay so would move us to a quiet room. Our room was on the top (third) floor and didn’t hear anything
